SkyWatcher Explorer 130P

I’ve always been fascinated by the night sky, so thought it was time to take the plunge and buy my first telescope. After having a go with a friend’s Skywatcher 114mm and searching the internet for reviews I decided to go with the Skywatcher Explorer 130mm P  (see spec below) from First Light Optics who, I can say, were very helpful (especially SteveB) when needing a bit of guidance when choosing between the 130p or the 130m.

Features

  • Magnifications (with optics supplied): x26 & x65
  • Highest Practical Power (Potential): x260
  • Diameter of Primary Mirror: 130mm
  • Telescope Focal Length: 650mm (f/5)
  • 1.25″ Rack & Pinion focuser
  • Eyepieces Supplied (1.25″): 10mm & 25mm
  • Parabolic Primary Mirror
  • 0.5mm Ultra-Thin Secondary Mirror Supports
  • Red Dot Finder

The package I purchased came with an EQ2 Mount, which I have since replaced with a SkyWatcher AZ GoTo following continued issues getting the mount to work with a motor I purchased.
